Nativity Scene comes to Millicent

A Collaborative project between the Millicent Business Community Association, Radio 5THEfm  and the Millicent Mens Shed with assistance from Lonergan and Muhovics and Banner Mitre 10 has created a Nativity Scene which has been on display at the Rotunda for the Christmas season.

The project has also extended to the creation of Christmas cut outs by the Mens Shed which in coming years will be hired out to businesses and homes for a small fee which will be then put back into making more cut outs. Materials were paid for by the MBCA, while the labour and design was by the Millicent Mens Shed. The promotion and organization was done by Radio 5THEfm while Banner Mitre 10 provided the paint. Lonergan & Muhovics installed lighting for the Nativity and continuous  music was provided by 5THEfm.

Students from the Millicent North Primary Schools mentoring class assisted the Mens Shed in the building of the Nativity and learnt valuable skills and formed friendships. School Principle Graham Slarks said it was a successful project for the students to be involved in.

Wattle Range Council were also very supportive with this project.

We hope to expand on this project in future years to help create a festive spirit in the town.
